Visiting My Second Home: KL

Being back from Switzerland means not just visiting Indonesia, but also my second home that is Malaysia. I grew up in KL, did my kindergarten and elementary school there, and even did my Masters in Malaysia too. I mean come on, roti canai and teh tarik for breakfast is like literally the best thing everrrr.

But anyway, yes, I just visited KL again, spent 3 days there to also check on my Schmiley Mo team (errrrr why are they based in KL? Because at the moment, Schmiley Mo's main market is Malaysia, followed by Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei, so might as well focus there and have our warehouse in Malaysia too). We also arranged a #SchmileyMoBreakfast event with fellow media friends and influencers to introduce our new collection, #EatYourBreakfast. Funny thing: Our new collection is inspired by my personal love for Acai Bowl, so in this breakfast event, I purposely ordered Acai Bowl for everyone so that I can share with them in detail about, you know, why Acai Bowl. Out of 25 people there, only 2 people finished it and the rest barely even touched it. They prefer nasi lemak omgggg zzzzzzzzzzzz. My bad.

So many BIG things are happening in my life I have been rather quiet ~ saving my energy for what's most important. Let's list them all:

1. Preparing my new book launch, hopefully happening this September. Say whaaaaaaat hahahah. This time I am writing a children's story book that is narrated by Shahmeer and Daria. I am in love with it, my husband loves it. This is my 'gift' for my own children and hopefully children around the world! 
2. Going back to Jakarta for summer break (yes yes! I'll be in Jakarta from July 23rd - August 15th!), and that means preparing everything for Shahmeer and Daria so their transition in terms of food, environment and routine is maintained and no one gets cranky or upset or (God forbid) sick.
3. Preparing for KLFW yayyyy! Every year Schmiley Mo always participates in Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week because at the moment, Malaysia is our biggest market. This one's happening on August 8th!
4. Moving in into a new place in Switzerland starting September, and that means literally buying new furniture and packing and unpacking and decorating aaaaakkkkkkk. I am happy but nervous but inshaaAllah we are moving to a much better, beautiful place. Alhamdulillah. (PS: It's only a 1-km walk to my favorite bubble tea joint LOL).

A Visit To Sisteron

After visiting many lavender and sunflower fields on our first day, we decided to spend our second day in the south of France by driving to this beautiful city called Sisteron.

Tomorrow we'll be heading back to Lausanne already but these past two days have been sooooo muuchhhh fun I'm so grateful we made this short trip happen! Yay! :)

I'm not sure who came up with the idea first, buuuuut our lil' family ended up having a road trip to the south of France together with Tania, Rama and Nandy hahah! We rented a car and drove all the way to Provence to catch sunsets, sunrises, and of course, the beautiful fields of lavender and sunflowers scattered all over the region.

Welcoming My First (Fancy) Crocs

To be honest, these Balenciaga crocs platforms were a love-at-first-sight for me. The moment I saw these ridiculous yet somehow adorable sandals on the runway and heard they were already available for purchase, I directly went online to purchase them but sadly they were immediately sold out. Sad news for me.

Over time, I started reading people's review and comments about them and I sort of developed some hesitation to get them because 1) their reviews were 100% awful and mean, 2) they judge people who actually buy them. But seriously though, why so judgmental? Sigh.

Some people like me just see beauty in "ugly" things, and people like "us" can detect and appreciate "art" in even the weirdest objects. And guess what: people like us don't judge other people's taste. That's because our minds are so free and fun, we love the concept of individuality and just being honest about what we love and what we don't without the pressure of society. Yet on the contrary, the other group of people will say things like, "those are fugly", "never in my life will I befriend anyone wearing that", "don't let 'fashion' fool you", "anyone who wears that is stupid". It might seem like simple remarks that were written in 3 seconds without even thinking much, but truthfully, by writing that, it just shows how ignorant and judgemental you are about other people who share different preferences than yours.

If you don't like it, just don't buy it.

Be nice to things you don't or can't understand.

Be nice to people who are not your cup of tea.

Be nice to people who love things that are not your cup of tea.

Just be nice in general.
